REPORTING A STUDENT ABSENCE

The parent/guardian of any student has the responsibility to notify the Main Office of each student’s absence prior to 10:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. When an illness exceeds the initial time indicated, the parent shall again notify school officials. Parents may call the attendance telephone extensions 24 hours a day to report an absence. (219) 663-2173, ext.13000 or 13003. When reporting an absence, the parent should give the following information:

Student Attendance

To “attend” school means to be physically present and enrolled in a school or another location where the school’s educational program is being conducted during regular school hours on a day in which the educational programming is being offered. Any student who is enrolled and accumulates at least ten (10) unexcused absences during a school year is considered habitually truant. Any student who accumulates at least ten (10) absences, excused or unexcused, during a school year is considered chronically absent. Our school will continue to track daily student attendance from the beginning of the school year.

Immunization hours are by appointment only. Monday-Friday: 9am – 4pm. Call 755-3658 to schedule.

Free immunizations to Indiana Medicaid & uninsured children. (Children with private insurance call 755-3658 for eligibility.) All children need a current shot record. Please bring an Indiana Medicaid card or current, insurance card, if applicable, which pertain to your child.
